1875 - 1877 - Expanding the estate

Apparently not satisfied with the 20 acres, Samuel then proceeded to buy up the surrounding blocks. By October 1877, he had added over 16 acres, acquiring land either side of the Government Road (Burnie Street) leading from the Western boundary of the original estate to Arden Street.

Lots were purchased as follows:

• Lot 8 in Nov 1875 for £150,
• Lot 9 in June 1876 for £212/3/-, and
• Lot 6 in 15 October 1877 for £400.

Only lot 7, remained to complete the picture.
