1878 - Samuel dies while landscaping on the estate

Samuel died in June 1878 as a result of tetanus resulting from an injury to his left forefinger while he was assisting stonemasons with their work. He was just 63 and otherwise in robust health. He was only able to enjoy all the work that had been done for just over a year.
